RC Vision envisions a world where children and young people of all backgrounds are inspired, engaged and empowered through hands-on experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics by providing accessible and inclusive access to the exciting and dynamic world of radio control car racing.

RC Vision’s mission is to provide accessible, inclusive, and high-quality radio control car racing activities that inspire children and young people of all backgrounds to explore the world of science and engineering while fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where children and young people of all backgrounds can learn, grow and have fun. We will work in partnership with the community and other organizations to achieve our mission and positively impact the lives of children and young people in our society through our inclusive approach.

Who We Are

  • Andy Hyde

    Former motorcycle race engineer and material scientist. Serial entrepreneur and founder of RC Vision, Andrew has spent the last 15 years working to improve the impact of social innovation, most notably in youth employment and careers guidance.

  • Denise Stephenson

    As a CEO, public speaker, diversity and social mobility consultant, Denise is changing the lives of young people across London. Through her charity Reach Out 2 Kids (ROK), Denise has spent the last ten years working with schools and businesses to raise the career aspirations of minoritised young people and provide the confidence, information, advice and guidance to realise those ambitions.

  • Astrida Grigulis, PhD

    A chartered human resource management professional, Astrida has led diversity and inclusion leadership initiatives at some of the largest Government and non- Government STEM employers in the UK, including British Airways.

  • Stu Colby

    Multiple RC championship-winning driver and construction engineer, Stu is chair of one of the UK’s leading RC racing clubs. Stu has designed and built a number of amazing circuits and RC facilities and is the co-founder of the social media channel Daily Dose of RC.

  • Linda Medlicott

    Mega star and social campaigner, with a background in education and sports, Linda is a professional career coach and safeguarding lead with UK governing body Motorsport UK.

  • Emil Kostadinov

    16-time Bulgarian national champion in RC racing and leading sustainability expert at Owen Mumford, Kostadinov is passionate about sustainability and sees great potential for RC Vision to promote sustainable practices within the motorsports and STEM education industries.

  • RC Vision CIC is a Not-For-Profit Community Interest Company, registered in England and Wales under registration number 13829883. As a Community Interest Company, we are committed to providing a benefit to the community through our social venture which delivers radio control car racing activities for children and young people to learn about science and engineering. Our company has a specific legal status and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our community interest statement defines our specific social and environmental objectives and how we will achieve them..

  • RC Vision CIC is committed to providing safe and enjoyable activities for children and young people through radio control car racing. We understand that safeguarding is essential in providing a safe and secure environment for all of our participants.

    Our Safeguarding Policy includes the following elements:

    All of our staff and volunteers undergo an enhanced DBS check before working with children and young people.

    All staff and volunteers receive regular training on safeguarding, child protection, and how to identify and report any concerns.

    We have a designated Safeguarding Officer who is responsible for ensuring that our policy is implemented and that any concerns are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.

    We have a clear and transparent procedure for dealing with any concerns or allegations of abuse or neglect.

    We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse or neglect towards children or young people.

    We encourage children, young people and parents/carers to share any concerns with us and have clear communication channels to do so.

    We regularly review and update our safeguarding policy and procedures to ensure that they align with current legislation and best practice.

    We work in partnership with other organizations and agencies to ensure that we provide the best possible support to children and young people.

    We respect the rights of children and young people to be heard and consider their views and feelings when making decisions that affect them.

    Complaints can be made in writing, by phone, or in person.

    All complaints will be acknowledged within five working days and will be investigated as soon as possible.

    Policy Statement

    Bullying and harassment are defined as any behaviour that is intended to intimidate, degrade, humiliate, or harm an individual or group. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal abuse, physical abuse, social exclusion, and spreading rumours.

    Procedures for Reporting Bullying and Harassment

    Any volunteer or staff member who experiences or witnesses bullying or harassment should report the incident immediately to a supervisor or the designated contact person (e.g. Volunteer Coordinator).

    The report should include the name of the person(s) involved, the behaviour that was observed, and the time and location of the incident.

    The report will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.

    Any volunteer or staff member found to have engaged in bullying or harassment will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of their volunteer or staff position.

    RC Vision CIC will also take steps to protect the victim and prevent further incidents of bullying or harassment.

    If the complaint is not resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant, they have the right to escalate the complaint to higher management.

    RC Vision CIC will provide training and education on preventing and addressing bullying and harassment to all volunteers and staff.

    RC Vision CIC will also take steps to create a culture of respect and inclusion by promoting positive behaviours and attitudes and encouraging the reporting of any incidents of bullying or harassment.

    All volunteers and staff are expected to comply with this policy and to take appropriate steps to prevent and address bullying and harassment.

    Any volunteer or staff member found to have retaliated against an individual who reported bullying or harassment will also be subject to disciplinary action.

    This policy will be reviewed and updated annually or as needed.
